UZURV Services in San Diego, CA

MTS

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) provides MTS Access, an origin to destination paratransit service designed for residents and visitors who are unable, because of a disability, to utilize MTS bus and trolley services operating throughout San Diego County. MTS has contracted with a privately operated transportation provider, First Transit, to provide most MTS Access trips with a fleet of agency-owned vehicles, drivers and support personnel employed by First Transit. First Transit has partnered with UZURV to provide MTS Access trips during times when other MTS Access vehicles are unavailable, when service demand is high, and/or for passengers and/or at times and in locations best served by UZURV’s Adaptive TNC service model.

To learn more about MTS Access, including eligibility, areas served, hours of operation, passenger fares, and other service policies, visit the MTS Access Paratransit website, or contact MTS Access by phone at 619-557-4555.

MTS Access Paratransit by UZURV

Who Can Use UZURV?

The MTS Access Paratransit provider determines which trips to assign to UZURV based on the availability of the MTS Access fleet, the time and location of the trip, and other scheduling factors. In general, customers who are able to safely board and ride in a sedan or Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), and those who use manual wheelchairs and walkers that can be stored in the trunk or cargo area of a sedan or SUV, will find UZURV service to be accessible and comfortable. UZURV drivers are able to assist with the storage of mobility devices upon request.

UZURV provides origin-to-destination transportation (either curb-to-curb or door-to-door depending on need) with a team of qualified and credentialed drivers who operate their own personal vehicles — much like other Transportation Network Companies (TNCs). Before providing trips, UZURV drivers pass a nationwide background check, a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliant substance abuse test, and must demonstrate knowledge of appropriate techniques for transporting people with disabilities and older adults.

When and Where Does UZURV Operate MTS Access Service?
