UZURV Services in Portland
The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) provides LIFT Paratransit, an origin-to-destination paratransit service designed for residents and visitors who are unable, because of a disability or disabling health condition, to utilize TriMet bus and MAX Light Rail services. TriMet has contracted with a privately operated transportation Provider, Transdev, to provide most LIFT Paratransit trips with a fleet of agency-owned vehicles and drivers. Trimet’s LIFT service has partnered with UZURV to provide trips during times when LIFT Paratransit vehicles are unavailable, when service demand is high, and/or for passengers and/or at times and in locations best served by UZURV’s Adaptive TNC service model.
To learn more about LIFT Paratransit, including eligibility, areas served, hours of operation, passenger fares, and other service policies, visit the landing page for LIFT Paratransit or call LIFT Paratransit Customer Service on non-holiday weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by phone at (503) 962-8000, Option 2, or by TTY using the Oregon Relay Service at 711.
LIFT Paratransit by UZURV
Who Can Use UZURV?
The LIFT Paratransit provider determines which trips to assign to UZURV based on the availability of the LIFT Paratransit fleet, the time and location of the trip, and other scheduling factors. In general, customers who are able to safely board and ride in a sedan or Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), and those who use manual wheelchairs and walkers that can be stored in the trunk or cargo area of a sedan or SUV, will find UZURV service to be accessible and comfortable. UZURV drivers are able to assist with the storage of mobility devices upon request.
UZURV provides origin-to-destination transportation (either curb-to-curb or door-to-door depending on need) with a team of qualified and credentialed drivers who operate their own personal vehicles — much like other Transportation Network Companies (TNCs). Before providing trips, UZURV drivers pass a nationwide background check, a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliant substance abuse test, and must demonstrate knowledge of appropriate techniques for transporting people with disabilities and older adults.
