In 2022, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) faced driver shortages as paratransit ridership returned to pre-pandemic levels. RTC launched a pilot leveraging UZURV’s assisted mobility platform alongside its primary operating partner, MV Transportation, to support core operations.
The pilot established UZURV as a long-term supplemental partner, providing an FTA-compliant, ADA-credentialed driver network that delivers 98.8% On-Time Performance (OTP) while improving per-trip cost efficiency by 48% — enabling RTC to extend operating funds by millions of dollars to serve more riders across the region.
Challenge:
Following the pandemic, transit agencies nationwide experienced a rapid rebound in paratransit demand alongside significant driver shortages, and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) was no different. To support its dedicated fleet, the RTC needed a flexible, supplemental assisted mobility solution that could provide immediate scale across its Greater Las Vegas and Clark County service areas — while maintaining strict safety, FTA compliance, and service reliability.

RideCoIntegration
Solution:
In coordination with RTC and its primary operating partners, UZURV integrated its assisted mobility model directly into RTC’s paratransit service structure. UZURV quickly mobilized a specialized, FTA-compliant driver network credentialed in ADA door-to-door assistance and disability sensitivity to serve riders throughout Las Vegas and Clark County.
Under RTC’s leadership, the program launched as a targeted pilot with MV Transportation, initially serving the Blind Center of Nevada before expanding to area dialysis centers. After demonstrating reliable access for essential community and medical trips, UZURV became a long-term, multi-year supplemental capacity partner.
Today, UZURV delivers critical operational scale for RTC’s paratransit system across six functional areas:
- Cost efficiency & specialized driver network: Delivers a 48% per-trip cost efficiency while maintaining an FTA-compliant driver pool credentialed in ADA door-to-door assistance and disability sensitivity.
- Dispatch integration: Connects directly into RTC’s RideCo software to automate trip scheduling and assignment.
- Real-time oversight: Provides live trip monitoring and operational reporting for agency visibility and audit readiness.
- Service continuity: Maintained service delivery throughout prime paratransit operator transitions and a statewide cyber incident in 2025.
- Service performance: Achieves a 98.8% On-Time Performance (OTP) rate on overflow assignments, backed by a 98% rider satisfaction rating.
