UZURV services in the Baltimore area

MDOT MTA

UZURV provides door to door transportation for eligible older adults and people with disabilities under two distinct programs administered by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA).

MobilityLink by UZURV

MobilityLink provides specialized door-to-door transportation throughout Baltimore City and portions of Baltimore and Ann Arundel Counties for people whose disabilities limit their ability to independently get to a bus stop, wait unassisted at a stop or station, or board or ride a bus or train on their own.

The agency contracts with several paratransit providers who deliver most MobilityLink trips with wheelchair-accessible MTA-owned vehicles. One of these providers, First Transit, subcontracts with UZURV to provide MobilityLink trips assigned by the MobilityLink Operations Center during times when MTA’s MobilityLink vehicles are unavailable, when service demand is high and/or for passengers and/or at times and in locations best served by UZURV’s Adaptive TNC service model.

To learn more about MobilityLink, including eligibility, areas served, hours of operation, and passenger fares, visit the MTA’s MobilityLink Webpage or call (410) 764-8181.

MTA Call-a-Ride

MTA Call-a-Ride (CAR) is an on-demand, door-to-door transportation service that can be used by MobilityLink customers to supplement MobilityLink service. The CAR program is managed by MJM Innovations, and UZURV is one of a dozen available providers for customers to choose when using the MTA Call-a-Ride service.

There are two MTA Call-a-Ride service options.

MTA Call-a-Ride (Green Card)

All Call-a-Ride customers are eligible to take up to 62 one-way trips per month by paying just $3 plus the portion of any trip cost that exceeds $40.

MTA Call-a-Ride Center (Red Card) Program

Any customer currently receiving kidney dialysis treatment at a facility located within the MTA Call-a-Ride service area may be eligible for the MTA Call-a-Ride Center program which they can use to go to and from kidney dialysis for $2 per trip plus any costs above the $40 covered by the MTA. Service is available throughout Baltimore City and in those portions of Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties where MTA provides MobilityLink service.

MTA Call-a-Ride Service from UZURV

UZURV provides Call a Ride services using a team of qualified and credentialed drivers who operate their own personal vehicles—much like other Transportation Network Companies (TNCs). Before providing trips, UZURV drivers pass a nationwide background check, a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliant substance abuse test, and must demonstrate knowledge of appropriate techniques for transporting people with disabilities and older adults.

Who Can Use UZURV?

Any eligible MobilityLink customer who has enrolled in the Call-a-Ride program and who is able to safely board and ride in a sedan or Sport Utility Vehicle, and those who use manual wheelchairs and walkers that can be stored in the trunk or cargo area of a sedan or SUV, will find UZURV service to be accessible and comfortable. UZURV drivers are able to assist with the storage of mobility devices upon request.

UZURV welcomes passengers with service animals and has a zero-tolerance policy for any driver who knowingly denies access to a customer traveling with a service animal.
