Update to the UZURV Community

First and foremost, UZURV’s goal is to take the appropriate actions to best preserve public health in this difficult time. Efforts center on doing our best to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, while at the same time appropriately making sure much needed transportation is available to those in our communities who need it the most. 

We are continuously monitoring this evolving situation. We ask your help in doing the best we all can for the health of our community of riders, drivers, and caregivers. 

Updated guidance and requirements of UZURV drivers

  • Do not drive if you feel sick or have symptoms of any kind
  • Follow all CDC guidance – updated consistently and found here, as well as your state and local Department of Health instructions.
  • You are advised to clean & disinfect your vehicle before and after each ride, paying special attention to surfaces that you and riders touch frequently. CDC guidance on surface disinfection.
  • If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 please contact your healthcare provider immediately and follow all CDC guidance found here. Inform UZURV operations as soon as possible and do not take any UZURV rides until fully cleared by your healthcare provider.
  • Per CDC Guidelines – you must cover your mouth and nose with a face cover when driving for UZURV
    • You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick.
    • The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
    • Detail on appropriate face coverings and how to wear them can be found on the CDC Website.

As a driver, if you have concerns with any UZURV ride, immediately contact UZURV operations prior to taking the ride.


  • UZURV is continuing to actively monitor this evolving situation and will continue to do our best to preserve rider, driver, and community health while appropriately working to ensure transportation to necessary care is appropriately available to UZURV riders
  • Again, UZURV’s goal is to take the appropriate actions to best preserve driver, rider and public health in this difficult time
  • Our efforts are focused on doing our best to prevent the spread of COVID 19, while appropriately making sure transportation to necessary care is available to our communities’ most vulnerable individuals
  • If you have any questions, you can contact UZURV and the program through your normal reservation line
  • If you learn you have been impacted by COVID-19, we ask you to contact your program number directly so appropriate actions can be taken to protect community health. All HIPAA privacy will be maintained.
  • All UZURV drivers have been instructed to: 
    • Cease driving immediately if they believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19, OR if they have any symptoms whatsoever of any illness.
    • Sanitize and disinfect vehicle surfaces in accordance with CDC guidance on surface disinfection before and after each ride. 
    • Follow all guidelines from the CDC, state, and local Health Departments
