UZURV Services in Palm Beach County
Palm Tran is the public transit system serving Palm Beach County, Florida. Palm Tran provides Paratransit Connection, a door-to-door paratransit service available for people who qualify under one of three distinct programs:
- ADA paratransit is available for people who, because of a disability or disabling health condition, are unable to utilize Palm Tran’s fixed-route bus services.
- Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) services are available to people who, because of age, disability, or income status are unable to transport themselves, and are, therefore, “Transportation Disadvantaged.”
- Palm Beach County Division of Senior Services (DOSS) provides services for Palm Beach County residents who are 60 years of age and above, traveling to and from designated senior centers to access nutrition and other services offered by those centers.
There are two service options for Palm Tran’s Paratransit Connection service. Palm Tran contracts with Transdev, who provides a portion of Paratransit Connection service with a fleet of wheelchair-accessible, agency-owned vehicles, drivers and support personnel employed by Transdev. Palm Tran also partners with UZURV, who provides Paratransit Connection trips during times when other Connection vehicles are unavailable, when service demand is high, and/or for passengers who specifically request UZURV as their preferred Palm Tran Connection service provider.

Why Request UZURV?
Whether it’s getting to work, going shopping, visiting family, or any errand, everyone, including older adults and people with disabilities, deserves reliable transportation that is safe, accessible, and easy to use. Here’s what you can expect:
- UZURV service is direct and door-to-door. You are not required to share your trip with other riders.
- UZURV drivers provide service using their personal vehicles. All vehicles are inspected and must meet all applicable federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.
- All drivers pass detailed background checks and required substance abuse testing protocols. See our Zero-tolerance policy.
- Every Driver and Customer Service Representative completes training to meet the specific needs of all customers. This includes older adults, people with disabilities, people who need door-to-door assistance, people traveling with service animals, and people with less obvious disabilities and service needs. - UZURV Staff monitors every trip to ensure safety and quality of service, aided by our technology’s real-time tracking and safe driving metrics.

Who Can Use UZURV?
The Paratransit Connection provider determines which trips to assign to UZURV based on the availability of the Connection fleet, the time and location of the trip, and other scheduling factors. In addition, riders can request UZURV as their preferred Paratransit Connection provider. In general, customers who are able to safely board and ride in a sedan or Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), and those who use manual wheelchairs and walkers that can be stored in the trunk or cargo area of a sedan or SUV, will find UZURV service to be accessible and comfortable. UZURV drivers are able to assist with the storage of mobility devices upon request.
When and Where Does UZURV Operate Paratransit Connection Service?
Paratransit Connection provides service in all areas of Palm Beach County that are within ¾ of a mile of Palm Tran bus routes. Connection service is available on weekdays between 4:45 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., on Saturdays between 5:30 a.m. and 10:35 p.m., and on Sundays between 7:00 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. For a more detailed discussion of when and where Connection is available, visit the Paratransit Connection website. UZURV provides trips assigned to it by the Paratransit Connection provider, Transdev, as well as trips for those riders who request UZURV as their preferred provider. UZURV operates throughout the Paratransit Connection service area, during all Connection service hours.
Fares and Payment
Each Paratransit Connection trip costs $3.50 and may be paid with cash or using a Ticket to Ride. Please note, UZURV drivers do not make change and are unable to accept tips.
In accordance with ADA requirements, a rider’s Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may travel at no additional cost.
Riders are also permitted to travel with an additional child or companion. Children under the age of 8 may travel at no additional cost.

How Many Passengers Can UZURV Accommodate?
Because UZURV is a sedan-based service, we can accommodate the rider and two additional passengers. Passengers are requested to sit in the backseat unless they have a disability-related reason for sitting in the front seat. Can UZURV Transport Children?
UZURV will transport children as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult who is at least eighteen years of age. In accordance with Florida law, children under the age of eight and/or measuring less than four feet, nine inches in height must be in an approved child safety seat which is provided by the rider. Drivers are prohibited from lifting or carrying children.
Traveling With a Service Animal?
UZURV welcomes passengers with service animals and has a zero-tolerance policy for any driver who knowingly denies access to a customer traveling with a service animal. A service animal must be under the physical or verbal control of its handler at all times and must sit or lie on the floor of the vehicle at all times. What About Mobility Devices?
UZURV is able to transport any rider who can safely transfer from their manual wheelchair or walker into the passenger seat of a sedan or SUV with minimal assistance, and as long as the mobility device can be safely stored in the vehicle’s trunk or cargo area. UZURV drivers can assist with the storage of mobility devices upon request. What Assistance Will Drivers Provide?
In accordance with Paratransit Connection policy, UZURV drivers will provide door-to-door service. Specific tasks that drivers will provide are listed below.
Drivers will:
- Meet you at the outermost door or in the front lobby of the building where you will begin your trip.
- Confirm your identity and that you are waiting for a Connection ride and then verify that they are your driver. (Your UZURV driver has a digital ID available to view upon request.)
- Assist you with navigating to and boarding the vehicle if you request.
- Assist you by carrying up to two 20-pound grocery bags.
- Open and close the vehicle door.
- Provide assistance with the vehicle seatbelt if needed.
- Fold and store a walker or manual wheelchair in the vehicle’s trunk or cargo area.
- Provide verbal direction or assistance to assist you in locating the outermost door of your destination upon request.
